As we near the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, we will have our annual Blessing of Pets on Sunday, October 4th at Noon in the Mary Garden.
Saint Francis loved the animals and really all of creation because he saw in them such powerful signs of God’s loving goodness. To Francis, it was as if God’s glory radiated in each and every one of his creatures. Please bring your favorite furry, feathered or finned friend and give thanks to God for the goodness that he brings us via our pets – please secure your pet on a leash or in a carrier.“
All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures.” Canticle of the Creatures, St. Francis of Assisi
