The Music Ministry of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church seeks to uplift our worship through the power of music and prayer to praise God. We encourage active participation and use music as a tool to enrich our Liturgies. We use the time and talents God has given as us we praise God in joyful sounds of prayer!
There are many ways that parishioners can participate in our Music Ministry.
Children’s Choir (reading age to grade 5)
This enthusiastic choir leads our bi-monthly Children’s Liturgy on the first and third Sundays of the month from September through June at the 9:00am. Mass on Sunday. This choir learns the fundamentals of singing, musical rhythm, notation, leadership, using the hymnal, and ear training.
This Children’s Choir rehearses each Thursday from 3:30 – 4:15pm in the church.
Contemporary Choir (grade 6 to grade 12)
This choir of young people sings contemporary and traditional hymns and songs at our 5:30pm Mass on Saturdays. They add youthful energy and vigor to this vigil Mass. Experienced singers may also cantor at Mass. Any youth in grades 6-12 interested in singing or playing an instrument should attend our regularly scheduled practices on Thursdays. Parish Choir (Adult Choir)
This choir of adults and some youth sings at our 10:45am Mass each Sunday. They also sing for our Confirmation and First Communion Liturgies as well other special masses and Holy Days throughout the church year. This choir also prepares special musical literature for other special liturgies. There are opportunities for experienced singers to cantor during mass.

There are opportunities for some singers to serve as leaders of prayer and song during our liturgies. In addition to singing, cantors are encouraged to grow in spiritual and liturgical qualities and musical knowledge to become ever more effective leaders of song and prayer in our parish. Experienced singers who are interested in being a cantor at our liturgies should contact our Music Minister, William Alford at email@example.com.
Playing a musical instrument in church is another way to praise the Lord during our liturgies. Guitars, percussion instruments, flutes, trumpets, and many other instruments are regularly used to praise the Lord. Those with a working knowledge of their instrument and interested in participating should contact our Music Minister, William Alford at firstname.lastname@example.org.
